Intern Offers

Funded by the DFG, GESEP organizes the so-called GESEP School every year, a prestigious training course for young geoscientists, which provides the basis for scientific drilling. In addition, courses on the use of instruments and software are offered on request. For example, the use of the data information system "ExpeditionDIS", training units at the core repositories in Bremen and Berlin-Spandau for the initial description and opening of drill cores as well as the operation of the various analytical instruments are offered.

IODP and ICDP will focus in future on joint projects with a need in terrestrial and marine drilling. This development will create unprecedented opportunities for young scholars in Earth sciences

The key topics of the training course will highlight this development:

  • Key examples present and future of land-to-sea drilling

  • The Chicxulub Crater drilling: on-site experience and research
